I love profanity.

Ephesians 5: 4, James 1:26, 3: 8-10

I curse a lot, and I usually think of myself as creative and cool with it (Bugger!), using it just the right amount for emphasis (once per punchline), in just the right crowd for maximum impact (Sunday School).  I never do it in front of children, or my in-laws, but in my squeaky-clean circles it makes me feel like just a bit of an intellectual outlaw, and I find it terribly fun.  However, lately I've been noticing I'm not the only one with this 'just enough' approach to profanity.  The problem is that the more profanity we hear, the less impact it has.  So that 'just enough' from too many of us turns into way too much way too fast.

I love GCB!

2 Corinthians 12: 20-21, James 2: 1-7 , Titus 2: 1-8, Leviticus 19: 15

Say what you will about offensive stereotypes, religious persecution, bad language, christian fiction, cheesy accents, soap operas, silicone cleavage, hypocrisy, and the worst orange fake bake ever, but I just love GCB.  ABC's new church-flavored replacement for Desperate Housewives may not have the same level of murderous mayhem as its night-time soap predecessor (yet), but if you like to watch nasty women with impeccable grooming and fashion destroy each other for fun, GCB is your kind of show.  Or maybe that's just me.

It's Spring Break Bay-beeeeeee!

In honor of Spring Break, I am taking the week off from the blog.  Everyone go out and do a body shot off a stranger for me, in Christian love.

See you next week,

I don't go to church.

Hebrews 10: 25, 2 Thessalonians 3: 10-12, Matthew 6: 25-34

It's not that I don't want to, I just don't have the time.  Well, I have the time, I just really need to spend it sleeping.  I work evenings, 'second shift' for those of you who remember that term, and I work all three weekend nights, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.  Getting up early enough for church simply doesn't happen on the weekends.
